I know someone I’ll call “Kim”.  She’s divorced with two kids, has a job and makes about $380 per week.  She lives with her parents, is quite promiscuous (sleeps around) and, some would say, suffers from multiple personality disorder.  Kim falls in love with a man, who we all know only wants her for sex.  To keep her man, Kim decides to get pregnant so he won’t leave her.  Dumb, right?  Needless to say, he doesn’t want the baby and is keeping his distance from Kim.

Another acquaintance, “Beth”, is 20 years old.  She desparately wants a baby, dates a man for three months, gets pregnant, and has a baby girl.  The father has seen the baby three times in six months and pays no child support.  Beth works part time and makes about $250 a week.

Every year thousands of women get pregnant for all the wrong reasons.  Sure, many of these women really want a child, but why should the rest of us have to support them.  Both of the women above are unable to provide for their children and have applied for medicaid, food stamps, WIC and subsidized housing.  Kim was even upset that it would take a few weeks to find out if she in fact qualifies for free support.  Beth continues to bitch because her case worker is too busy to answer her weekly calls.  Ladies, stop feeling sorry for yourselves because your “free ride” isn’t as easy as getting pregnant was.

I don’t like being forced to take care of people who can’t take care of themselves.  It’s even worse when I have to take care of their children too.    Since my hard earned money is being used to help support the children that these unfit mothers should have never brought into this world, shouldn’t I be able to claim them on my taxes.  What thanks do I get for being an extended parent to thousands of kids that I don’t even know.  If you’re a mother living on welfare and using my money to support your kids, my birthday is February 2nd.  Please ask your child to at least get me a birthday gift.  And, a card on Father’s Day would be nice too!
