After talking with my family and friends, I’ve decided we need rules in life.  Not laws or city ordinances and nothing governed by the Constitution, just plain ‘ole simple rules like mom and dad used to make up for us when we were little.  Here are some ideas, based on personal experiences:

  • If you show up 20 minutes late for a dentist or doctor appointment, you lose your right to “chit chat” with the medical staff following your appointment.  This only serves to make everyone else wait longer for their appointment.
  • A veteran owned business should get the same consideration as a minority or woman owned business.  I’m a veteran and own two businesses.  Trust me when I say that being a veteran doesn’t count for as much as if I were a minority or a woman.
  • If you are not handicapped and park in a handicap parking spot, it’s an automatic $1,000 fine.
  • If you are in this country illegally, you will be deported with no questions asked.
  • If you commit suicide, your estate will owe the city $20,000 to pay for the death investigation.
  • If you live on welfare and bare a child, you will no longer receive welfare.
  • If you commit a crime and are found guilty, you lose the right to sue anyone involved in your arrest, including the victim.
  • If you quit your job, for no reason or cause, you can not receive unemployment compensation.
  • Meteorologist only get paid when they predict the weather correctly.
  • Pro athletes only get half their salary if they have a losing season.  The other half is reimbursed to season ticket holders.
  • Anyone who carries a gun, must complete a week long safety course

These are just a few ideas I’ve come up with.  I have several more in mind, but I would like to have your input.  What are some issues that really upset you and what rules would you like to enact?
