Are your friends tired of listening to a standard ring tone, you know the boring one that everyone has?  Have you tried free ringback tones?  Free ringback tones offer your friends and family members a more enjoyable way to reach you.  Are you in to hip hop, but you know your best friend likes county.  With a ringback tone, you can configure your phone to play your friend’s favorite county song anytime he or she calls you.  Now, are free ringback tones actually free?  Probably not!  Not too much in life is free, not even ring back tones.  Here’s an interesting point . . . Verizon Wireless actually came up with the name Ringback Tone.  If you’re with another service provider, you may want to become familiar with their term for free ringback tones.  For example, you may want to search for free caller tunes if you’re with T-Mobile or free answer tones with Cingular Wireless.  Sprint simply uses call tones, so try a search for free call tones.

So whether you’re looking for free ringback tones, free call tones, free caller tunes or free answer tones, I’ve got ya covered.   For the past few hours, I have searched the entire internet to find you the best deals out there.  Let me provide you with, free of charge, the following places to inquire about free ringback tones (free call tones, free caller tunes, free answer tones, etc).  Word of advice, be careful when searching for free ringback tones.  Many websites will sucker you in and have you sign up for a plan, which will cost money, only to offer you free ringtones.  Ringtones are different than ringback tones.  Make sure the that the company you choose to use does indeed offer “ringback” tones.

Jamster
No, their ringback tones are not free, however you can get quite a bit of stuff for their packages that range in price from $5.99 to $9.99 per month.

AT&T Wireless
AT&T Wireless is a trusted source.  No reason to doubt your purchase or subscription package with AT&T.  From what I’ve seen, you may purchase individual songs for $1.99 each.  Please view this link “how do I use ringback tones” for more information about AT&T Wireless and their program.

Verizon
Here again, another trusted source.  It looks like Verizon charges $1.99 for their ringback tones as well.  Seems to be the going rate with most phone service providers.

The Ring Tone Zone
They offer ringback tones for all cellular phone models and wireless carriers.  Based on the information available, $9.99 month gets you  either ringback tones or text service.  Without signing up for an account, I wasn’t able to determine how many tones you get for $9.99

Ok, you’re right, I didn’t search the entire internet for free ringback tones.  As a matter of fact, I only probably searched about 2% of the internet.  But, I did learn a lot about free ringback tones and the fact that I don’t think they exist.  Sure, there are a lot of sites that offer free ringback tones, but once you sign up you’ll find that they’re really not free.  I know there are a lot more companies that offer ringback tones, and I would like to hear from you and learn from your experiences.

If you know of any legitimate offers for free ringback tones, please leave a comment.  I’m sure others would like to know where to look.
